Creatures Of Dead Hearts

Zombies – infected with virus.  H1N1 virus turned to H1N1z virus (z for zombie).  Bleed from eyes, nose and lungs – die in 3 days – rise back as a zombie…bite infects.

9 months later – zombie goo gets into the mouth of at least 12 people worldwide – they turn into Vampire Makers.  They can make vampires.  Regular vampires can only make zombies, not other vampires.

Vampire Makers – give super strength, glowing eyes match the Maker’s, fangs, suck blood, heal fast.  Each Maker has a special trait – some offspring are extremely intelligent, and eventually all but a handful of Makers are killed off because of this…the Kaiser only wants intelligent vampires.

Vampire Makers can bite an animal and infect it.  Infected animal can bite humans and turn them into therianthropes (really shape shifters).

Therianthropes can infect other humans instantly – heal quickly, very strong, turn whenever they want, always maintain human personality even in animal form.

Superhumans – Cadence is bitten by a zombie and a vampire and then stung by a bee.  She is actually allergic to the pollen on the bees stinger, which came from the foxglove plant. This plant is poisonous and if ingested slows the heart, and while slowed, the two viruses competed and merged together to make her superhuman.

Cadence’s blood can cure a zombie.  It can kill a vampire instantly.  It will turn a therianthropes into an animal forever.  It can turn a human into a superhuman – they eventually develop different powers over time.  Referred to as Chameleon Blood.

Chameleons are human infected with Cadence’s blood.  They are immortal super humans who develop their own unique gifts, such as speed, flying, and invisibility.

Dragon’s blood can infect a zombie and turn the zombie into a super zombie.  The memory is restored, but the zombie is now like a super human and also eats its own kind, the weaker…and they are considered demons in ancient times.  The zombie once it regains its memory is always evil.  It can think and talk.

The virus through the ages created all forms of demons and supernatural creatures.  Only vampires are not immortal (they are at the end of the series, only because Logan ends up being bitten by two different types of vampires and turns into a Vampyr, like the Kaiser, and Logan can make females into vampyr as well as men.  The original vampires, the Vescali, cannot turn women into vampires, nor have children, but they are immortal and very weak physically.  Logan’s breed of vampyr are originally all male – he only made 8 – and these 8 can make vampires who are male and female and immortal.  Logan bites Rose who is a vampire and turns her into a vampyr, immortal and she turns evil at the end of the series and infects all remaining Dark Angels who also turn evil. However, vampyr can turn into bats.  The Vescali have small bat wings – the Kaiser is huge as was the original and is technically a demon.  I never reveal if Logan and his new breed can turn into bats…I don’t think they can, as I really don’t like that for modern vampyr…but modern vampyr consider themselves vampires…only the original 8 and Logan refer to themselves as vampyr.

The Tarqali are an ancient demon – once human – big, dark black or grey, bat features, big muscles, powerful, talk and think…but rather stupid – they are evil but have a code of honor.

The Vescali are treacherous and have no code of honor.  They are all 7′, very thin, bald, and veins are easily seen through skin.  They are extremely intelligent and yet physically weak…they can turn into bats (human size, with small wings).
